Assessment
Upper School

All pupils who have registered for a place are assessed in the academic year prior to entry.
Everyone who has registered for a place will be invited to attend an entrance test day, which is usually held in January.
Our entrance assessments involve a combination of tests and an informal interview with a teacher. We will also take the current school reference and reports into consideration.
A child’s ability to engage with the extra-curricular life of our school and support our values are important factors in the selection process.
The tests will assess maths, English and verbal reasoning, with an additional paper in humanities for Year 9 applicants. No prior preparation is necessary, although we recommend you familiarise your child with our sample test papers below.
What happens next?
All candidates who attend an entrance assessment will be notified of the outcome in early February, with an acceptance deadline of early March.
